what to do...what to do....it won't stop raining!

Don't be jealous that your couch cushions are not as pretty as mine. Oh how I love the summer rental furniture:)

Heaven on Earth: Hilton Head Island

Last week Andrew and I went with my family on our annual trip to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. I am so excited for this week every year! Our family seriously talks about all year in anticipation. One of the perks of being in Orlando this summer is that Hilton Head is only a four hour drive so Zach and Jake were able to drive up late Saturday night and be there all day Sunday with us. After three years of marriage Zach has finally seen the place I love! Anyways, most of our days in Hilton Head are spent lounging at the beach, taking trips to Harbor Town, family dinners with everyone at night and lots of yummy drinks from Pool Bar Jim's. This year (why we haven't done this in the past I have NO IDEA) we all rented beach cruisers for the week. Andrew was IN HEAVEN. He seriously threw a few tantrums throughout the week because he wanted to go on the "truck"...which is bike in Andrew language. I loved riding on the beach or along the paths that lead to Salty Dog or Harbor Town. Another glorious week at Hilton Head come and gone!

A surprise trip to Houston

On June 10th Zach and I celebrated our three year anniversary! Time has FLOWN, at the same time it seems like we have always been married! Unfortunately Zach had to be in Tampa for work that day and then flew out the next morning to Houston. So, super last minute, I decided to see if I could get a flight to Houston Thursday night to surprise him. And I did! I went over to our friends' apartment (Adam and Mel Tripp) where I knew he would be going to after work. As he was walking up the stairs I jumped out from behind a wall and yelled "SURPRISE!". Um, he was so in shock he didn't even say anything at first and just stared at me. It was pretty funny. Even though he had to work the rest of the week, it was still so fun to be together at night after work and some of the mornings. I got to have fun with my friends Mel and McKell while he was working which was so fun! I think I love Houston!

I threw these pics in from our wedding.

On Sunday we went to my BFF's house from college...McKell. On the way there we stopped by a big fish tank she had told us about to show Andrew. I'd like to think he wanted to give me a really big hug in this picture but I'm pretty sure he is just looking at the fish:)

Oh how Andrew LOVES his Dada. Whenever I pull up our blog at home he plops on my lap, points at Zach and says "dada!" as he leans in to kiss the screen. He was so happy to see him.

After dinner at McKell's house Zach disappeared in the bedrooms with the kids for a minute. I walked back there to see what he was doing and this is how I found him. I was cracking up laughing thinking....does he really think that is what a boppy is for? But apparently the kids were all handing him toys and telling him what to do with them. Funny!

Andrew and his "truck" for the week. It was the coveted toy as you can see. Ha...j/k.

I can't wait to see what sport Andrew ends up playing because he is pretty much obsessed with it all right now!

Our husbands finally become friends. Yay!!

Andrew and cute little Livy playing in the yard together.

Me and McKell

Look at Andrew's face...he is LOVING this!

I wish this picture was better but this was so funny. Andrew had scraped his knee earlier and kept pointing to it on the way home saying "Owa" which I think means owee. So I blew a kiss and put it on his knee (because anytime something hurts he wants me to kiss it). So after I did that he decided he should kiss his knee too, but he couldn't reach it, and he kept trying and was getting super frustrated. It was so funny!

I am a LAME-O and didn't get any pictures with Mel! But here is one of her putting her headband on Andrew. We were torturing him basically. HA.

One day we went with McKell and her kids to a neighborhood splash park nearby. It is the best thing ever....I need to find one of these in Utah! I didn't have to worry about anyone drowning! Andrew LOVED it as usual.

Another day McKell and I went and did some fun stuff in Houston. First stop: Thai food for lunch. My absolute favorite...except WHAT THE HECK IS THIS??? This was what they put in front of me when I ordered Mangoes and Sticky Rice for dessert. I tried so hard not to laugh and said, "um, what is the brown stuff?" The waiter told me it was pumpkin. Very interesting. Purple wild rice, with pumpkin over it. Well, it actually wasn't too bad, but I definitely prefer the good old normal stuff!

McKell introduced me to this lovely place. Crave Cupcakes. I love how I took a picture of the box, but probably got too excited once I opened the box and didn't take a picture of the actual cupcakes. Oops. They were so yummy!

Andrew and Livy had some bathtime together:)

Week 21....it's growing!!

The Magical World of Disney

Last week Andrew and I went to Disneyworld with Jessie, Jenny, Brooke, and her kids. We had so much fun! I won't lie it was probably the HOTTEST day I have ever experienced in my life...the pictures will attest to that. I look absolutely disgusting in all of them, but we had so much fun. The lines weren't bad at all. Andrew loved riding all the rides and being with Brooke's kids. Landon and Brandon (her twin boys) sang to Andrew and played hi-five with him which he loved.
One thing that happened that I thought was funny was that on two rides Andrew got a little scared. When he would get scared he would lean into me (he was on my lap) and in a low quiet voice say, "Mama. I want da ba-ba." It was making me laugh so hard. He doesn't even drink bottles anymore, but I think he still refers to them as his source of comfort. Sad! But all in all it was a GREAT day. I love that Andrew is finally at an age where he can think stuff like this is fun.

Jessie and Andrew on the tram into the park.

Waiting for his favorite ride...Small World.

Pure fascination. We were on It's a Small World at this point.

Sitting in Minnie Mouse's chair in her house.

Anyone ever had a pineapple dole whip before? Probably the most heavenly treat I have had in a long time! Don't mind my sweaty red face. Yuck.

So tired!

New Smyrna Beach

Yesterday we went with a bunch of friends from the office here to New Smyrna Beach. Unfortunately it rained the whole time and was really overcast, but we still played on the beach and in one of the pools at a resort there and had so much fun. Being the smart mom that I am, I didn't bring a change of clothes for Andrew to wear after being all wet in his swimming clothes. Luckily Erin had an extra shade top shirt on her, so we put it on Andrew. It seriously was SO FUNNY. He looks so WT. Then to top it off he spilled his chocolate milk all down it. We will be buying her a new one:) Anyways, he looks like he is wearing a toga, and we were getting lots of funny looks from people. We could not stop laughing!

My "bump". I look nasty in the picture.....it was raining on me all day.

Andrew loves his uncle Jake. We are not sure why...but he calls him "yo".

This is a classic Andrew face. He loves to throw balls so much. Sometimes his wind-up to throw them is so big that he falls backwards and makes this face. HA!
