Just call me.....

RECESSIONISTA! I recently found this blog and I love it. I love how simple this woman is but yet she still has a lot of style. On one of her more recent posts she featured her sister and how she has been redecorating her home. Not only did her style impress me but her serious sense of FRUGALITY! (is that a word?). Everything she bought was from IKEA, or craisglist, or something seriously discounted. Her mother-in-law named her a Recessionista. I love that word. I thought to myself...I want to be a a Recessionsita! Really I never feel very good about myself when I splurge on something that I know was too expensive and completely unnecessary...but especially right now I feel that way when I know so many people being affected by this economic situation. Anyways, I thought I would share that term with all of you incase you want to be a RECESSIONISTA with me:)

boring blogger

Sorry my blog has been so boring lately. Honestly I have been pretty busy (I feel like I always say that) so blogging hasn't been on the top of my list lately. Plus, I have no new pictures really. I have been so bad...I need to take more. Andrew is at such a fun age and I don't want to miss anything. He is slowly starting to talk to us and it is cracking me up. These are his words: momma, dada, d-d (which is just two quick d sounds...this is what he calls his blanket, don't ask), baba (bottle), ball, no, yeah, banana. I love when I feel like we are actually kind of communicating. He is still in love with the stairs, but now he wants to walk down them. He has no interest in learning to crawl backwards down them, he would rather you hold his hand and help him walk down. He is basically running now too. And he seriously has so much hair that he is now on a regular schedule of monthly haircuts. Hilarious. Anyways.....that's what is going on with the little man.

The big man: Zach. He is busy busy with school and work as always. Things are going really good. He has been able to go skiing a few times which makes him really happy. A couple weekends ago he took a jump at Park City which ended up being a BIT larger than he thought. Anyways he crashed, and totally should have broken his nose, but he just had some bad scratches on his face. I got him Rockband for Christmas and it is now a nightly ritual. I am hoping that will taper off:)

As for moi....I am on a mission to decorate our new home. It is taking forever. I can only make a couple trips a day without feeling bad for Andrew. Our basement should be finished by the end of this week, early next week. We are so excited!! I also am addicted to WAY too many tv shows. Here's my line-up:

Sunday: Desperate Housewives and Brother & Sisters
Monday: 24, The Bachelor, One Tree Hill
Tuesday: 90210 (I am a loser I know), The Biggest Loser, American Idol
Wednesday: boring......there is nothing on
Thursday: Grey's Anatomy

I am almost done with another quilt too. I'll post a pic when it's finished. Anyways, I'm not really sure why I just wrote all this. I just feel a little out of touch with everyone....so now you know why! Here is the bedding I just got for our guest room. I LOVE it! I am done rambling....I will post something good soon, I promise!

Something to look forward too...

Why is it that you find so many cute things for a baby when you AREN'T expecting one???? I searched HIGH and LOW for baby bedding before Andrew was born. I love what I got....but I am SO EXCITED to use this on my next baby.....and the boy version is soooo cute too!

Lucky Lucky Me

This is what I did today. Zach and I went with some friends to Park City to ski all day long and I loved every minute of it. There is something extremely refreshing to me about skiing. You are in nature....surrounded by beauty.....breathing cold very fresh air, yet at the same time I am being active and feeling good about myself. And when my toes get cold (which they sure did today) you have great friends to go sit in the lodge with and laugh (and laugh we did...thank you Jenna and Katherine). I love days like today!

PLEASE READ

Well I just sat here and did about six or seven new posts. I was way behind. So...if you haven't visited lately make sure you keep scrolling down...there are lots of new pictures!!! GRACIAS

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Last night to celebrate we had our own little party with Zach's brothers Blake and Tyler and their wives Anne and Ali. Pretty much we played Rockband all night, Ticket to Ride (a new game we are kind of obsessed with) and drank Martinelli's while making fun of ourselves for how lame our New Year's may seem to the rest of the world. Whatever we had so much fun. Zach bought firecrackers from Walmart . We ate till we were all sick. Great way to end 2008 and welcome 2009.

We found our new favorite trick at the grocery store!!! WOOHOO no more rushing...the boy is OCC-U-PIED!!
