An Adventure Across the USA
Hopefully a picture will be posted soon....but here's a funny story for everyone. I will say it was not funny at the time, but now we are laughing about it. Last Sunday Zach and I left Utah to drive to Maryland for the summer. Our last day of traveling was a little crazy. We were in Pennsylvania with only about 3 hours to go until we were FINALLY there. I was driving. As I rounded a curve on the freeway going about 75 mph, I see an enormous wild turkey walking along the side of the road. I started to slow down, unsure of where the crazy bird was going. Next thing I know the turkey flies up into the air directly in front of my windshield. I shut my eyes and turned my head and heard a huge WHACK. As I opened my eyes I realized that I had hit the bird and my windshield was completely shattered and caved in. What a nightmare! We pulled over and got help. We stayed the night in Pennsylvania that night instead of finishing the drive. The next morning we got a new windshield and finally arrrived in Bethesda. All in all...we hit a wild turkey....which if you ask me is pretty dang funny!
